Welcome! Sunshine's Fantasy at Starr Crest Resort, is the culmination of the dreams of a little girl from a far different environment. As you might expect, I'm Sunshine. Long ago my best friend's husband noticed that I always had a smile for friends, and the room seemed to light up when I entered the room. Hence, I was called Sunshine.

When I was a little girl, I lived in Tucson, Arizona. Tucson is dry, dry desert, with few trees to cool the parched soil under a little girl's feet. I often dreamed of a place filled with trees, swaying gracefully in the wind, and tiny woodland creatures chattering in their branches. When I met my husband more than a decade ago he also noticed my shining blonde hair and the glow of friendship that seemed to surround me, and he was "captivated by my charms." My husband, my knight in shining armor, has always worked to make all my dreams come true, as good husbands do. So when I told him of my fantasy, of a place of wooded quiet to shelter from the bustling world of day-to-day existence, he was destined to one day make that dream come true.

We found the Great Smoky Mountains, and their awesome beauty while traveling through Tennessee, and fell in love. The crisp, clean smell of the majestic pines that blanket the mountains in the Great Smokies is exactly as I dreamed it as a child. The soft carpet of needles underfoot quiets the step and creates a hush. All the better to listen to the call of the forest, nature at it's finest.

Sunshine's Fantasy sits here, at Starr Crest Resort, atop a high ridge right at the back door of Dollywood. From these lofty heights, you can spy Pigeon Forge below, and off in the distance, fifty miles or so, you may catch a view of the Cumberland Gap. The breathtaking beauty of these mountains is beyond the comprehension of mortals. If you sit in the hot tub on the deck at night, you can look into the stars of a loved ones' eyes and gaze down at the lights spread out below to compare the two.

Imagine awakening in the morning, snuggled in a huge king-size bed, with all the natural beauty of this wooded paradise spread out before you. You walk into the kitchen and pour yourself that first steaming cup of coffee, then carry it outside to drink in the glowing sunrise.

Then on to a day of sightseeing…Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, go-cart tracks, dinner shows and oh, so much more. We're only seven miles from quaint, charming Gatlinburg, a shopper's dream! And as you explore the surrounding area, you'll find it's loaded with outlet stores, where bargains are everyday finds.

Quiet, fun-filled evenings packed with good food and good times make Sunshine's Fantasy the ideal location for your getaway. The kitchen is outfitted with microwave, range, oven and dishes. All you bring is the food. There's a pool table, foosball, TV, computer and games to keep everyone entertained. The Jacuzzi is a wonderfully soothing way to relax those tired muscles after a long and eventful day on the run. Or just sit in front of the fireplace, gaze into the crackling fire, and reflect on the end of a perfect day.
